Description THIS COURSE DISCUSSES THE BASIC CONCEPTS OF PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE IN THE CONTEXT OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, WITH A FOCUS ON HOW VARIOUS PHILOSOPHICAL SCHOOLS INFLUENCE EDUCATIONAL THINKING AND PRACTICE. STUDENTS WILL STUDY THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THEORIES OF KNOWLEDGE, VALUES, AND EDUCATIONAL POLICY, AS WELL AS THEIR IMPLICATIONS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION. THIS COURSE ALSO CRITICALLY EXAMINES PAUD EDUCATION POLICY, INCLUDING THE PROCESS OF FORMULATION, IMPLEMENTATION AND EVALUATION, IN LOCAL, NATIONAL AND GLOBAL CONTEXTS. THROUGH IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS, STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND, CRITICIZE AND FORMULATE POLICIES THAT SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT NEEDS OF EARLY CHILDHOOD, BASED ON THE PRINCIPLES OF ETHICS AND SOCIAL JUSTICE.
