History

The Master's Program (S2) at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta includes three study programs, namely: (1) Islamic Religious Education Study Program (PAI), (2) Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education Study Program (PGMI), (3) Early Childhood Islamic Education Study Program (PIAUD), (4) Arabic Language Education (PBA), and (5) Islamic Education Management (MPI).

The Islamic Early Childhood Education Study Program (PIAUD) has only one concentration. The PIAUD S2 study program was opened in 2009 after obtaining an operational permit from the Director General of Islamic Education Number: Dj.I/358/2008, which was then extended again with the issuance of the Decree of the Director General of Islamic Education Number: 113 of 2013. In 2013, the Masters Study Program PIAUD obtained accreditation from BAN PT with an A rating, as stated in SK Number 198/BAN-PT/Ak-XI/M/IX/2013, dated 26 September 2013. The year 2016, underlies the change in the nomenclature of the study program which was originally Raudlatul Athfal Teacher Education (PGRA) to Early Childhood Islamic Education (PIAUD). Furthermore, the PIAUD Master's Degree Study Program reaccredited in 2018 and managed to maintain its A rank accreditation with an increase in score (369), based on BAN-PT Decree Number: 1780/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/M/VII/2018.

Organizing effective education based on Islamic values ​​to ensure the realization of competent graduates in the field of early childhood education.
Carry out research that can develop theory and practice of early childhood education using various interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary perspectives.

To produce Masters (S2) graduates of Early Childhood Islamic Education (PIAUD) who are faithful, have noble character, have social and managerial skills, and have an entrepreneurial spirit and a sense of social responsibility.
To produce Masters (S2) graduates in Early Childhood Islamic Education (PIAUD) who respect and animate Islamic, scientific, and human values.
Realizing a healthy and competitive study program to provide quality education services at the master's level in the field of early childhood education.
Making the Early Childhood Islamic Education Study Program (PIAUD) UIN Sunan Kalijaga a center of study that excels in the field of integrative-interconnective early childhood education studies and research.
